OVERVIEW
This project consisted of a full refurbishment and new extension of an existing 1950’s bungalow in the Marshwood Vale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Dorset.
The bungalow was in poor condition, in need of a full refurbishment that involved the demolition of all internal structure and the raising of the original roof for better head space.
Additional accommodation, required by the Client, was accommodated over two storeys to provide a more agrarian massing allowing it to sit more comfortably within the valley.
The extension and the bungalow are both clad in larch timber to naturally silver and to tie the two elements together.
The final house is highly insulated with energy provided by an air sourced heat pump and solar panels on the roof.
